By now, you are all familiar with how incredibly bad FF 2015 is. Why blog about it here? Because, against all hope, I would one day like to see a new Elfen Lied series of some kind. It may never happen, but if it does, I want its creative leads to stare hard at FF 2015, Transformers Beast Machines and Teen Titans Go!. What do all these have in common?
The creative leads told their people to actively avoid the prior or source material.
I never again want to hear that an adaptation was made by someone who actively avoided the original version of what they're adapting from. It is stupid advice. If an EL-whatever is ever made, let me hear that the director didn't get it, didn't like it, or what have you, but have it be required that they look the manga and anime over. Cast/crew of this hypothetical feature? Feel free to come here and cheat if they are stupid enough to tell you this.
Let this advice be cut in two, decapitated, hit with a 50-weight sniper shell, be blinded, de-limbed, eviscerated, blown up and realize, just before we mercy-shoot it as it melts :
"Gee, I guess I really was a piece of horrible advice."
