I'm really impressed with this Wiki and the commitment of its editors to Elfen Lied. It's unfortunate that efforts to get us a Season 2 were not successful. I suppose that can be attributed (at least in a very small part) to the fact we never had a large and united fan community. No large fan community = no visibility. I used to be an administrator for a place called Elfen Lied Fansite (some of you may know of it) but that tanked for various reasons. It was the closest we ever got to having a hub of fan activity.
I think if Elfen Lied has a future it will be due to being recognized as a classic. Any revival of the franchise down the line will probably be an anime reboot done as a tribute to the 2004 anime (though probably following the manga storyline). Being realistic here, that could be decades away if it happens at all.
Even with the setbacks our fanbase has faced, I have nonetheless remained enthralled with the series and have sought to promote it amongst my friends. I recently created an IRC channel at https://kiwiirc.com/client/198.23.255.104/#Elfen_Lied which is the second Elfen Lied IRC channel I have attempted to grow (IRC is a simple web-accessible chat medium that does not require registration). I dedicated it to this Wiki given I feel that this Wiki is the greatest legacy of our fanbase. If that bothers you guys, I can remove the references to this place from the channel topic.
I do see a number of ways in which this Wiki can still be expanded (even though many years of work have already been put into it). I'll probably post about those in the appropriate forum (they mostly involve trying to understand/speculate on the various manifestations of Super-Science in the franchise).
It's been nice to check in, guys.
